Matrix Providers is hiring a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families in Fort Hood, TX.
Employment Status: Part-time
Compensation: This is an hourly position paid bi-weekly.
Schedule: Saturday/Sunday (weekend coverage), 8-10 hour shift coverage. Clinic hours of operation are 7 am - 6 pm.
Requirements: The MRI Tech must have and meet the following:
Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA.
In addition to Basic Life Support, certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or the American Registry of Clinical Radiography Technologists in the specialty identified in the task order.
One year of experience as a radiologic technologist within the last two (2) years.
Job Summary:
Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures/services as appropriate to the TO.
Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology Department policies and procedures.
Provide appropriate in-house diagnostic radiological services.
Maintain an accurate, legible log of outgoing/incoming radiographs.
Send the appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.
Process digital images and submit them for interpretation by radiologists.
Ensure patients are appropriately prepared for procedures, including obtaining consent prior to beginning any examination.
Perform selected radiology examinations and procedures under the supervision of a radiologist.
Responsible for evaluating image quality, making initial image observations, and forwarding those observations to the supervising radiologist.
Adapt examination protocols to improve diagnostic quality.
Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that each patient receives quality care while in the radiology department or clinic.
Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with MTF policy.
As directed, perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to the manufacturer and MTF policy. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values.
Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated Government personnel. Report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and record the problem condition in the trouble call log book.
Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which have a direct bearing on the patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to contrast media and inform the radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention. Recognize the need for and institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or respiratory arrest.
