Heather Hernandez is controller for Matrix Providers. As a senior leader skilled in finance and accounting operations, as well as program implementation, Hernandez has more than 15 years of experience in both federal government and commercial markets including healthcare. Her experience includes evaluating, developing and implementing controls and processes to mitigate risk. She is skilled at government accounting (DCAA) and the import/export regulations for foreign business transaction compliance (FAR/DFAR) for the United States government.
Hernandez’s work experience also includes creating risk control matrices and implementing Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 controls to ensure compliance, as well as establishing segregation of duties and instituting best practices to ensure no deficiencies for internal, external and SOX audits.
Hernandez earned a Master of Science degree in International Management and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration, both from Troy University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. She also volunteers her time as treasurer for the Oak Mountain Youth Baseball organization.
